This website is about children’s rights.

‘Children’s rights’ is a very wide topic as it touches on every aspect of children’s lives. In summary, children have the right to survival and protection and the right to develop to their full potential.  They also have the right and responsibility to help build a better world in partnership with adults.

On this website, you can find information on children’s rights that include:

  • Policy and laws that uphold children’s rights, such as the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child, the South African Bill of Rights, and others.
  • Resources, news, and advocacy campaigns  on particular issues affecting children such as education, family life, discipline, poverty, violence, HIV/AIDS, disability and many others.
  • The voice of children themselves especially in the photo-documentary “Visions & Voices:  Children’s Rights & Realities”.

There is also information on the Children’s Rights Centre, our work and publications.

We hope all visitors to the webpage will join with us in the challenge to MEET CHILDREN’S NEEDS FIRST!
